Guy and I invited..

We want to thank the Hill and Dale Garden Club for inviting Guy and I to their meeting last night. And a special thank you to Diane Arnold who called us with the invite and your kindness at our arrival in Binghamton. We were asked to share about our maple syrup production, our story and developing farm. First, we started out with samples of our maple syrup, then each person was able to try some of our Face/Body cream on from our skincare line and then we took off with sharing our story. This is the first time that Guy has spoken publicly to a group and I must say he did a great job! Starting group off with his beginnings in his grandfather's sugar house, describing what he saw and what he smelled as a child that set the course of his life time journey of making maple syrup to this very day. He even had them laughing a few times. It was a wonderful experience to have my husband by my side and us taking turns sharing with the group who we are and what we do together. Our son Jake, was unable to attend but we made sure to tell the people how instrumental he is in the business and that we would not be where we are today without him working with us and we truly are a family in business. We shared our maple syrup offerings, introduced them to our skincare line, our published children's book, and tees with our farm characters on them. We ended the talk with allowing questions from the group and that led to thoughtful questions from them and many sharing their childhood memories with us of farm life and making syrup with their grandparents. I had a reflective ride home with a smile in my heart knowing where we had been, what we shared and that we are truly doing and walking out what God has planned for us. We are blessed! www.bigguysfarm.com

Welcome Samuel!

Welcome Samuel! Born to Suzie yesterday. Suzie is a first time calf heifer. And both are doing well but there is a story behind her and her sister Belle. First, Suzie and Belle (you will find their baby picture as the last photo to view) we brought them home at 3 and 5 days old. For those of you who have followed the development of our farm will remember we started with none to two then so on in just three years! As Belle and Suzie grew they expectation would be that they would both me long time members of the farm at producing calves. Belle took right off and is now just had her second calf that you see in the photo. But for Suzie, she did not take to pregnancy easily. We were even told by a few to beef her as she is costing us money and not producing. But with prayer and determination to not give up on her we gave her four tries. Three were artificial insemination and the forth and final try was with a neighboring bull that spent time with our herd. And behold three years later, Suzie is a very devoted momma of Samuel! Which is a Bibical name and the name of a prophet in the Old Testament of the Bible. We are so blessed. Now Suzie and sister can raise their babies together. And so you know that shortly after the birth of Samuel, Belle ventured her way to Suzie to stand close and support her sister. So Big Guy's Farm is growing rapidly and our calves are daily seen leaping in the pasture together and our growing herd in a family of unity. www.bigguysfarm.com

Calf, pickles, and kids...

Calf, pickles, and kids!! Quite the weekend with getting Maverick adjusted to his surroundings and being his new momma! As you can see, he is adjusting just fine and we were even able to get some canning done for Big Guy's pickles. The kids enjoyed loving on the new baby and he did not mind the extra attention and freedom in the yard with us and the dogs. So all is well on the farm! www.bigguysfarm.com

Welcome Maverick!

Welcome Maverick! Born to Autumn. She is a first calf heifer. She had a big baby and it was a challenge for her. But she did it. Unfortunately, the experience stressed Autumn so that she has not taken to her baby yet. So we are bottle feeding him and allowing baby and momma to heal and recover from the challenge. Maverick is taking to the bottle just fine after a few introductions, much praying, with a swollen mouth and nose, and loving him through it, we got there. Today is a new day! www.bigguysfarm.com
